This time last week. I sat. Poised to crossover into the next season. My heart transcending within the thick fragrance of incense. I had completed the work. His faithful endurance worked within me. This ministry of motherhood He tethered me to was changing. I was changing. And with this singular reflection my heart burst with gratitude. All the color. All the sound. All the aroma was present. A heavenly touch to my soul. My courage for the next chapter renewed. AND this is living a life WITH God. A life turned on to our senses. A life full of beauty. And this is my next ministry. Planting our family in the rich soil at @christfellowship.church is the smartest decision we’ve made for our family. God used people to bring us here. And people to keep us here. He gave us a spiritual family to belong to and a spiritual home to dwell in. He’s used this place and these people to fill the gaps for us. Now our kids are surrounded by a huge spiritual family. What would I tell myself a year ago? You’re about to experience true love. Someone I love. #onedaymay I love him most when we just get to be us. Working together and raising kids for two decades feels like living in a rock tumbler - there’s a lot of bumping and rubbing. What I’m reading #onedaymay and why. “The whole transaction of religious conversion has been made mechanical and spiritless. We have almost forgotten that God is a person and, as such, can be cultivated as any person can.” A. W. Tozer. @garythomasbooks goes on to say, “The casualties of “mechanized religion” are many. It’s one thing to witness spiritually empty people outside the church; it’s even sadder to see Christians inside the church who suffer this same emptiness.” Equipping myself to help others learn how to “feed” themselves spiritually is a new area of ministry I’m growing into. If you’ve read my book, Learning to Roar, you know how I feel about growth & cultivation. This is just the next step on the journey.
