Hi, I’m Melissa

Can I ask?

When life feels hard, who do you turn to for encouragement?

Everyone needs a voice to run to when they’re discouraged.

I can help.

I can be that voice for you.

Encouragement can come from many sources. It can be spoken to you. I call this, courage on loan. It can be shared with you because courage is contagious in community. And you can learn to GROW IT by taking steps through the hard things in life. These are all ways we can cultivate our courage.

And that’s what I do. I help women learn how to cultivate courage in their everyday ordinary lives.

They call me the courage girl. copy 4.png

What’s your root of discouragement?

In my experience weeds of discouragement pop-up in three specific seasons of life.

A season of trial.

A season of transition.

A season of transformation.

In a season of trial we experience discouragement through suffering, prolonged hardship, or even conflict and contention in our relationships. Trials invite us to experience pain and adversity.

How exciting right? Wrong.

When life gets hard, we use our courage. And when our courage get’s low, we feel discouraged.

It’s a simple truth.

In a season of transition we experience discouragement through confusion and insecurity. Transitions invite us into discomfort and fear.

Fear of the unknown.

It’s easy to find yourself unable to take necessary steps into the future when you’re not sure where to step and when. We desire safety, security, and certainty when we advance forward.

Avoiding the unknown is a symptom of fear. Stepping beyond our comfort zone requires courage.

In a season of transformation we experience discouragement through self-doubt. Transformation is marked by unmet expectations, delays, and redirections.

We want assurance that all the change is leading us in the right direction.

When will all the change settle?

While we search to see the bigger picture our feelings are fluid. Excited one moment nervous the next.

We hope for the best. It takes courage to hope while we wait for the outcome.

Identify your season.

I’ve created a variety of resources to meet you there. Would you like yours?
